About Reiki
What Is reiki?Reiki is a gentle, noninvasive practice that supports the body’s natural capacity for rest, regulation, and healing. Often described as universal life force energy, Reiki is offered through quiet presence and light touch or hands held just above the body. During a session, you remain fully clothed and comfortably supported while I work with this subtle energy field in a way that is calm, respectful, and trauma-informed.
What happens in a session?A Reiki session with me begins with a brief conversation about what is bringing you in, how you are doing, and anything you want me to know. Sessions are quiet, with music in the background. You may talk a little, or not at all. You may rest, drift, feel emotion, or simply notice your breath deepen. Some people fall asleep.
is reiki religious?Reiki is not a religion and does not require you to follow a particular spiritual tradition or hold any specific beliefs. You do not need to pray, meditate, or believe in Reiki for the practice to be offered or received.
Reiki is a way of working with the universal life force energy that moves in, through, and around all living beings. You are always invited to understand that experience through your own beliefs and worldview.
is reiki a replacement for medical treatment?Reiki is a complementary and integrative healing practice, not a substitute for emergency, medical, or psychiatric care. It does not ask you to adopt a belief system, and it does not require prior experience with energy work, meditation, or spirituality. You can come exactly as you are. I do not use Reiki to force an experience, override symptoms, or “fix” you.
why do people use reiki?People come to Reiki for many reasons. Some are moving through stress, anxiety, exhaustion, or major life transitions. Some are living with chronic illness, pain, grief, or caregiving fatigue. Some are simply curious about what it feels like to receive care that is quiet, spacious, and not demanding anything of them.
What about reiki for animals?Reiki may offer gentle support for animals experiencing stress, transitions, illness, aging, or changes in their environment, and can also be a beautiful way to support the bond between animals and the people who love them.
Animal Reiki can be offered in person or from a distance and is always intended to complement—not replace—appropriate veterinary care.
